The University of Central Arkansas will hold Commencement on Saturday, April 30 in the Jeff Farris Health and Physical Education Center.
University officials will confer 978 undergraduate degrees and 204 graduate degrees during three ceremonies.
Commencement for the College of Education, College of Liberal Arts and College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics is scheduled for 10 a.m. Commencement for the College of Business and the College of Fine Arts and Communication will be held at 1 p.m. Commencement for the College of Health and Behavioral Sciences will be held at 4 p.m.
UCA President Tom Courtway will deliver a challenge to the graduates. Dr. Steven Runge, executive vice president and provost, will be master of ceremonies.
Kelsey Broaddrick, 2016-2017 president of the Student Government Association, will bring greetings from the students at 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. and Zach Carter, 2015-2016 president of the Student Government Association, will bring greetings from the students at 1 p.m.
Kaye McKinzie, 2016-2017 president of the Faculty Senate, will address the graduates on behalf of the faculty.
The university will award Distinguished Professor Emeriti designation to retired professors Dr. Dave Naylor and Dr. Ben McNew.
Students receiving the President’s Medallion are Samantha Hoelzeman from the College of Education, Francis Benton from the College of Liberal Arts, Enock Rwamuza from the College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, Denesha Taylor from the College of Business, Mallory Brooks from the College of Fine Arts and Communication and Mollie Henager from the College of Health and Behavioral Sciences.
