Average SSCH Production of Full-time Faculty by Type
This metric specifically looks at Student Semester Credit Hours (SSCH) generated by a full-time faculty member assigned to the department that was pulled. This SSCH production looks at census data.
This metric did not look at anyone who would be considered a part-time faculty member, including staff teaching, because a part-time person could vary from 1 % to 99%. Since the part-time proportion varies across units, looking at this metric by part-time faculty members did not seem scalable across campus. A part-time faculty members SSCH is still counted within the (Undergraduate | Graduate) Course SSCH Production by Faculty Type metric as well as Department SSCH by CIP – (Undergraduate | Graduate).
Clarification: If a full-time continuing faculty member is assigned to department X, but teaches also in department Y. The SSCH generated by the faculty member for both department X and Y would show up in this metric under the department they are assigned to. A department chair would be included in the full-time faculty category.

(Undergraduate | Graduate) Course SSCH Production by Faculty Type
SSCH produced by CRNs in the department is displayed here. This data would include ALL faculty types, including Graduate Assistants. This SSCH production looks at census data.
Clarification: A department chair would be in the full-time faculty category. A dean or associate dean would be in the part-time faculty category since they are considered staff.
Average Class Size – (Fall | Spring)
Average class size is calculated using courses with the following delivery methods: Lecture, Lecture/Lab, Special Topics, Activity Course (e.g. physical education), and seminar. It looks at enrollment as of census day.

Course Fill Rate – (Fall | Spring)
Course fill rate is calculated by dividing census day enrollment by max enrollment by CRN.
Group 1 includes courses with the following delivery methods: Lecture, Lecture/Lab, Special Topics, Activity Course, and Seminar.
Group 2 includes courses with the following delivery methods: Applied Instruction, Clinical Rotation/Instruction, and Studio Course.
Clarification: If a course has a max enrollment of 0, the course fill rate will not be calculated since the divisor is 0.

Student to Faculty Ratio
This is a replica of the student to faculty ratio Argos dashboard already in existence. See the guide herefor this Argos dashboard. This ratio only looks at full-time faculty and part-time faculty. It would exclude staff teaching as adjuncts, as well as deans and associate deans. The ratio is calculated based on the student FTE that a faculty member produces from the courses they teach.
To calculate student FTE: For undergraduate courses, you take the total SSCH and divide by 15. For graduate courses, you take the total SSCH and divide by 12.

Declared Majors by CIP
The vitality target mentioned in the footnote is based on the ADHE program viability threshold. The vitality target is four to six times the ADHE program viability threshold.
