UCA will hold spring commencement ceremonies on Friday, May 3rd and Saturday, May 4th, and the university relies on the support of employees across campus to ensure that this event goes smoothly! If you would like to assist with Commencement ceremonies as a volunteer, please see the information below and sign up using the link.
Location for May Commencement: Farris Center
Commencement Ceremony Times:
Friday, May 3rd at 5pm (Volunteers arrive at 3:30pm)
Saturday, May 4th at 9am (Volunteers arrive at 7:30am)
Saturday, May 4th at 11:30am (Volunteers arrive at 10am)
Saturday, May 4th at 2pm (Volunteers arrive at 12:30pm)
Saturday, May 4th at 4:30pm (Volunteers arrive at 3pm)
Volunteer Information
Attire for volunteers is business casual (no jeans). Please wear your UCA name badge if you have one. If you do not have one, a commencement volunteer name tag will be provided for you.
Duties include passing out programs, scanning tickets, welcoming visitors, assisting with accessible and VIP seating, and ushering visitors to seating areas.
Volunteers will need to report to the Farris Center Lobby to check in 1 hour and 30 minutes before the ceremony. Note that some volunteer shifts will be dismissed 30 minutes into the ceremony, while others will need to stay for the duration of the ceremony. Please pay attention to the shift length start and end times you are signing up for.
UCA employees may choose to receive Staff Senate volunteer time (up to 16 hours of earned leave per year) or flex time, if approved by their supervisor.
