Sean Ardoin brings his Kreole Rock and Soul to the Windgate Center on April 4th at 7:30 pm.
The Ardoin name is one of the most revered in Creole and Zydeco music. Sean’s family legacy started with legendary Creole musician Amedee’ Ardoin, whose songs are the foundation for Creole and Cajun music, followed by Bois Sec Ardoin, one of the best-known practitioners of the state’s rural Creole sound for six decades, and his father Lawrence “Black” Ardoin. After co-leading the critically acclaimed Zydeco outfit Double Clutchin’, Sean set out on his own musical journey in 1999.
Ardoin has blended Creole and Zydeco to create his own genre of music: Kreole Rock and Soul. His electrifying performances and musical prowess, along with his four Grammy-nominated CDs, have earned him a well-deserved reputation. Sean has performed on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, MTV’s Road Rules, Real World, BET’s Comic View, and was featured on CBS Primetime’s NCIS New Orleans along with several other appearances.
Sean is also an Artist in Residence while at UCA and will participate in several activities with students and the public surrounding the eclipse. Be sure to come to the Eclipse Kickoff Party on April 4th at 1:40 pm in Estes Stadium. Several festivities are planned including a line dance that will be taught by Ardoin to his song “Kick Rocks”. This is a free event.
