Registration is now open for the Conference on Teaching Community & Civic Engagement in Arkansas, hosted at UCA on Thursday, May 23rd from 11am-4:30pm. Registration is free and includes lunch.
Higher education faculty, staff, administrators, student leaders, K-12 education leaders, and community partners committed to providing students with community-engaged learning opportunities are invited to join us for a conference to learn about best practices, exchange project and partnership examples, and discuss emerging issues in community-engaged learning and civic engagement in Arkansas. The deadline to register to attend is May 9th, but we encourage early registration as space is limited.
Highlights from the conference agenda include a keynote on the Civic Arkansas project by Shana Chaplin of the Winthrop Rockefeller Institute, concurrent sessions on community engaged learning models and project examples from throughout the state, a closing session on the impacts of LEARNS on community engagement and service-learning, and opportunities to connect with colleagues and partners around the state in roundtable discussions and networking.
