UCA second year DPT students Jaqueline Mondragon and Samantha Herrington recently presented research at Anatomy Connected 2024 held in Toronto, Canada on March 22-25. This conference is the annual international research conference for the American Association for Anatomy. Faculty mentor is Lara Davis, PT, DPT, PhD, NCS, Assistant Professor in the Department of Physical Therapy.
Mondragon and Herrington were able to attend the international anatomy conference and present their projects completed with Dr. Davis and additional DPT students from the UCA DPT Class of 2025. The authors and titles are: Jacqueline Mondragon, Ciana Diaz, Kyler Hulsey, Kaylee Miller, and Lara Davis. Impact of Graduate-Level Anatomy Outreach Program on High School and Undergraduate Students. And, Samantha Herrington, Adam Buckman, Madi Herbert, Walter Reed, and Lara Davis. Gross Anatomy Teaching Assistant Training for Improved Self-Efficacy in a Doctor of Physical Therapy Program.
Anatomy Connected inspires educators, researchers, and students to explore the latest research, expand their knowledge and skills, create valuable relationships, and discover what’s ahead in anatomy. The 2024 conference provided 3 full days of sessions and workshops featuring over 100 speakers, exhibitors and 480 poster presentations.
Dr. Davis joined the UCA Department of Physical Therapy in the Fall of 2021 and is teaching in the areas of Gross Anatomy, Neuroscience and Neuromuscular coursework in the Doctor of Physical Therapy program. She is a Board Certified Neurologic Clinical Specialist from the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties and received her PhD in Physical Therapy and her DPT degree from Texas Women’s University in Dallas, Texas.
