UCA Bears at the Ballot will host a Ballot Initiative Fair on Wednesday 4/3 from 11am-3pm on the Ronnie Williams Student Center Lawn.
Arkansas is one of 19 states that allow citizen-initiated ballot measures, and numerous advocacy groups are currently organizing statewide to meet the required signature threshold for their initiatives to appear on the November 2024 ballot. Bears at the Ballot wants to inform students about this important type of direct democracy and offer the chance to learn about the ballot initiatives from the groups leading them, connect with opportunities to become volunteer canvassers, and sign petitions for initiatives that they want to see on the ballot.
While this event is open to any member of the UCA community, only those who are registered to vote in Arkansas will be able to sign a petition at the event. Students can check voter registration in advance at https://www.voterview.ar-nova.org/VoterView
Voter registration will be provided at the event, but individuals cannot register to vote and sign on the same day.
