Join the College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences for a Keystone Conversation with Kristina Coggin from the School of Language and Literature:
Thursday Feb. 15, 2024
1:40pm-2:30pm
Windgate Center, Keystone Steps
In 1954, Ted Worley, a UCA professor and historian, wrote the first history of Arkansas State Teachers College (now UCA), detailing the inception and nearly the first fifty years of the University of Central Arkansas. The manuscript was left untouched for sixty-eight years in Torreyson Library archives, until Kristina Coggin began to work on it in 2022. Join Kristina for an explanation of the process of reading, editing, and preparing the manuscript for publication, as well as a discussion of the difficulties that arose in the journey. She will also provide information on what she has learned about the world of editing and publishing in general and reflect on her experiences as a student trying to enter that field.
