The Bear Essentials Food Pantry will be open from 11 – 4:30, Monday through Thursday during Finals Week, December 9th – 12th. The Pantry will be closed from December 13th through January 8th for UCA’s Remote Work Days and the Holiday Break. We will reopen at 11 am on Monday, January 9, 2025.

Description of Award
The annual Award for Excellence in Grants Impact, Seeking, and Stewardship (AEGISS) was established in November of 2018 (originally as the External Funding Award) to 1) recognize individuals for professionalism in obtaining and managing grants, 2) to promote a culture of grant writing among faculty and staff, and 3) to encourage grant recipients to track the impact of their grant work on the university community (faculty, staff, and students), the public (from the local to the global), and their disciplines/fields. Awardees will receive a plaque and $500. All applicants will receive a certificate of recognition.
Nomination Process
The nominating period will be announced with a link to the nomination form by November 1 of each year through the Academic Council, the Faculty and Staff Listserv, The ORSP Grants Gazette, Staff Senate, and UCA Inform. The nomination period will close on January 2. The AEGISS selection committee chair will verify eligibility of nominees and email eligible applicants within five business days, providing further instructions for applying for the award. Hello University of Central Arkansas!
We at Tutoring Services want to remind you that we will be open for finals week until the last final is complete. Next week, we’ll be open Sunday from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., Monday through Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m., Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and we’ll be closed on Friday. Students are welcome to make an appointment on Navigate360 or stop in for a drop-in appointment, if tutors are available. For assistance, please have them contact us at tutoring@uca.edu or call us at 501-852-0720.
Also, we’re doing a group tutoring event for finals week today (12/5)! For Chemistry 1, College Algebra, and College Physics 1, we’ll be doing one-hour block tutoring appointments today from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., or 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. During this time, tutors will be working with students to help students prepare for final exams. Students that are taking these classes have already received an email notification for this event, along with instructions on how to sign up for the event. To attend one of the sessions, please have them accept the invite or have them contact us at tutoring@uca.edu if they need assistance doing so.

The UCA Horn Studio, led by Dr. Brent Shires, is proud to present holiday carols in December!
Throughout the week of December 2-7, French horn quartets are available for custom caroling events, for a donation to the UCA Foundation’s Horn Studio Fund. Quartets can be “hired” for a convenient time to perform a minimum of 3 standard holiday carols, with add-ons available. Liven up your department party or serenade somebody special with the romantic sound of holiday horns!
Also, on Friday, December 6, the group will be performing outdoors in downtown Little Rock at 300 Main St., across from Samantha’s Tap Room & Wood Grill, from 6:00-8:00 pm. Donations will be accepted, but listening is free!
