Faculty – Thank you for submitting your Progress Reports. We had a 91% response rate from faculty. With that, we also know that some assignments were not due or graded by the end of the progress reporting time. Nominations Now Open

The annual Award for Excellence in Grants Impact, Seeking, and Stewardship (AEGISS) was established in November of 2018 (originally as the External Funding Award) to 1) recognize faculty and staff for professionalism in obtaining and managing grants, 2) to promote a culture of grant writing among faculty and staff, and 3) to encourage grant recipients to track the impact of their grant work upon the university community (faculty, staff, and students), the public (from the local to the global), and their disciplines/fields.

Awardees will receive a plaque and $500. All applicants will receive a certificate of recognition.

Nomination Process
The nominating form is now open. The nomination period will close on December 1. Potential applicants may nominate themselves.

Country music star, LARRY FLEET, to perform in Reynolds Performance Hall on November 14.

Tennessee-born troubadour Larry Fleet grew up on a stack of records spanning Merle Haggard, Otis Redding, Willie Nelson, and Marvin Gaye. A thoughtful songwriter with a knack for a one-liner, an ear for a sturdy hook, and a powerhouse voice that strikes like a match, Fleet was working blue-collar jobs to make ends meet long before landing his recording contract with Big Loud Records.

A road-tested live show standout, Fleet had his first ever headlining tour One For The Road in 2022 followed up with crowd-winning opening slots supporting Darius Rucker, Willie Nelson, Jamey Johnson, Jon Pardi, and many more. He continued into 2023 with his Larry Fleet Live tour, performed in major summer festivals and opened for Parker McCollum. His most recent tour Earned It has taken him across the country from New Orleans to Boston and beyond with sell out shows including one in London and 6 arena stops supporting Morgan Wallen.

Known for his hits “Where I Find God“ and “Things I Take for Granted,” Fleet is also an accomplished songwriter recently penning “Man Made a Bar,” recorded by Morgan Wallen and Eric Church, hitting No. 1 on the charts.

Harrison Bounds, a 2023 graduate of the BS program in Computer Science, published his research in a prestigious peer-reviewed journal:

This work was supervised by Dr. Emre Celebi, chair of Computer Science and Engineering. Harrison is currently pursuing his Master’s degree in Robotics at Northwestern University.

Dr. Emre Celebi, Professor and Chair of Computer Science and Engineering, and his colleagues organized the Ninth ISIC Skin Image Analysis Workshop at the 27th International Conference on Medical Image Computing and Computer Assisted Intervention (MICCAI 2024, October 6-10, Marrakesh, Morocco), the largest and most prestigious conference dedicated to medical image analysis. Sponsored by Canfield Scientific Inc., the workshop featured four invited talks and five paper presentations by leading experts.
