Recruitment Rules

Rules for Potential Members

  1. Must be enrolled as a full-time student (12 hours) at the University of Central Arkansas.
  2. Entering freshmen must have at least a 2.75 high school GPA; current/transfer students must have at least a 2.5 college GPA with 12 completed credit hours.
  3. Must not be an initiated member of any North-American Interfraternity Conference (NIC) fraternity, unless formally released in writing by the national headquarters of that fraternity.
  4. In order to receive a bid on Bid Day a recruit must have completed the registration at least 24 hours prior to Bid Day. Late registrations will not be eligible to accept bids until the start of continuous open bidding.
  5. Must complete a Greek Life Orientation Session (Greek 101) hosted by the Office of Student Life.

Rules for Chapters

  1. During Recruitment Week, Member fraternities may only host events during their allotted time slots.
  2. All recruitment events are subject to the same approval process through CubConnect as all other registered events.
  3. All recruitment events must end by 12:00 A.M. (midnight).
  4. All recruitment events and activities must be free of alcohol.
  5. All recruitment events are to be free of participation by women.
  6. Starting at 12:01 AM the day of Bid day, Members must avoid conversations with Potential New Members directly related to what chapter they will join.

Bid Extension

  • All bids extended and/or accepted must be first cleared through the Office of Student Life with the completion of proper registration.
  • During the fall semester, bids can be extended and accepted starting on the structured recruitment week Bid Day through Study Day.
  • In order to receive a bid on Bid Day a recruit must have completed the registration at least 24 hours prior to Bid Day.
  • During the spring semester, bids may be extended to and accepted starting on the first day of classes through Study Day.
  • Bids may not be extended and/or accepted during University break periods (summer or winter).
