Lisa Mommsen graduated from the University of Nebraska in Omaha with a bachelor’s degree in International Studies. After obtaining a master’s degree in Second and Foreign Language Education from Soka University of America, she taught English as a Foreign Language for six years at a women’s college in Tokyo. There she taught classes that include public speaking, academic writing, test taking and some business classes. After returning to the United States in 2002, she taught English classes in California and Texas.
