Sustainable Development Goals

17 squares of the United Nations sustainable development goals

The United Nations post the 17 Sustainable Development Goals as a call for all countries to promote development in harmony with nature instead of through exploitation. These goals act as a guideline for ways to address an array of social and environmental issues.

At UCA, Green Bear Coalition promotes the Sustainable Development Goals through action and eduction. Get involved today to learn more!

SDG Oriented Projects

Campus Food Security

Green Bears work in the DeeBrown Memorial and Lewis Atrium Gardens where all produce goes to the UCA Bear Essential Food Pantry to help food-insecure students and staff.

Garden Learning Project

Students work alongside experienced gardeners to learn sustainable practices in growing produce right here on campus! Here we learn crop pairings and native species of popular cultivated plants such as carrots.

Creek Clean-Ups

Each spring we host our annual creek cleanup to aid in preserving our urban stream on campus: Stone Dam Creek. Our efforts help improve water quality for aquatic life and local appeal.
