While sustainable practices can seem unapproachable and distant, even tiny actions can have a big impact. Here are some tips on how to be a sustainable student here at UCA.
Moving In/Out
- Donate items no longer wanted
- Recycle as much waste as possible
- Buy used to increase the item’s lifespan
- Donate unused/unwanted food to the Bear Essentials Food Pantry
Living Space
- Use energy efficient appliances
- Reuse what you can, recycle when you don’t
- Buy only what you need, small spaces fill up fast
- Shop with reusable grocery bags
- Reduce unnecessary water usage
Transportation
- Walk or bike to your destinations on or near campus
- When going places with a group, carpool to your destination
Wellness
- Eat plenty of fruits and veggies
- Enjoy the many natural areas and trails on campus
- Get involved on campus
