Testimonials

After 20+ yrs out of the classroom, I felt both excited and intimidated about returning to a formal educational setting in which the coursework was online and asynchronous. I researched graduate programs for a very long time searching for one that was accredited and affordable. Each time, my search continuously included UCA’s M.S.E Literacy /Dyslexia End. program. I finally committed and took my first courses over the summer months. My only regret was that I did not apply and enroll sooner!

The level of support I’ve experienced as an out-of-state, online student has truly exceeded my expectations. The program, professors, and Dr. Thompson have positively influenced the direction in which my career has shifted towards, through not only the coursework, but also additional professional learning experiences. Not to mention, I’ve also met and networked with some amazing educators throughout the country.

Most importantly, the courses are updated yet comprehensive, and also rigorous yet manageable for the full-time working educator. The introductory Multisensory courses, especially, are well worth the time even if you have training, experience, and knowledge of multisensory approaches. They provide such a strong foundation to the program and future coursework. I highly recommend UCA’s M.S.E. Literacy /Dyslexia Endorsement program to anyone pursuing the knowledge and credentials to support struggling readers.

I sought an accredited University and was impressed with UCA’s commitment to IDA accreditation AND the opportunity for a clinical practicum. I found the asynchronous delivery a great fit for my current school schedule. Emails are answered in a timely manner and professionally, while giving the feeling of being a valued person, no matter the distance, and not just a number. Also, when problems arose that were out of my control, the professors readily gave me more time to complete assignments and offered help over and above my expectations.

Classes offer readily applicable content and pragmatic solutions of which I applied in the first week of classes! The professors have spent numerous hours on engaging and relevant content. By guiding our thinking to link content and practical application, maintaining an updated curriculum, and applying a personal touch evident through their delivery styles, Dr Thompson and the faculty make it clear that maintaining a high quality program is their top priority.
