Q: What are your current career plans upon having completed your Master of Science in College Student Personnel Administration?
A: “I am planning to gain the skills necessary to have a broader understanding of higher education as a whole, and how things have developed over time. I cherish having the opportunity to add an educational base and confidence to my passion for enhancing the collegiate experience for students.”

Q: Share one “aha moment” you have had thus far while in the CSPA program.
A: “While taking the Counseling Theories course, I was reading Adler’s theory on how sibling birth order can lead to both positive and negative experiences in life. I would screenshot some of the book content and send it to my sister, and we would discuss moments in our lives where we could relate to the birth order effect.”

Q: What inspired you to enter the field of higher education as a future career?
A: “I had student affairs professionals in my undergraduate experience who impacted me in such a positive way and encouraged me to get involved in a leadership capacity. I am who I am today because of being challenged to do more than just go to class. To be that same inspiration for other students with similar backgrounds as mine means the world. I enjoy watching students blossom into professionals and thrive in their future careers!”

Q: Share one experience in the CSPA program that you have enjoyed.
A:
“The CSPA orientation in August 2023 was a great experience for me! I enjoyed meeting the faculty as well as the students in the program. A unique closeness is apparent with this group, and I’m happy to be a part of it!”

Q: Describe the UCA learning and community experience.
A: “The hybrid/part-time track for the CSPA program has been a blessing for me. This flexible option has afforded me the opportunity to further my education all while being a husband, father of 3, and full-time staff member. UCA continues to foster an inclusive community and learning environment suitable for all!”

Q: What advice would you share with people interested in studying about and receiving training in higher education?
A:
“If you are thinking of pursuing a career in student affairs and want the education behind it, don’t wait! START NOW!
