Communication Sciences and Disorders

The UCA Master of Science (MS) degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders (MS-CSD), a residential program in speech-language pathology offered by the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders, is accredited by Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. Graduates from the MS program meet academic and clinical practicum standards for the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech-Language Pathology granted by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and the Speech-Language Pathology license issued by the Arkansas Board of Examiners in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology. Graduates also meet the requirements for the Speech-Language Pathology credential from the Arkansas Department of Education, Division of Elementary and Secondary Education.

Students planning to seek a professional license, certification, and credentials outside Arkansas, should familiarize themselves with the specific requirements of the state in which they intend to apply for licensure or certification. Before enrollment, contact the appropriate licensing body to determine whether the professional licensure certificate or program meets the requirements for licensure in the state where they intend to practice.
