Renewal Timeline

Fall 2024 Cohort

📅 December 16, 2024

✓ Service hour requirements for Fall 2024 semester completed
✓ Be in good standing with the UCA Office of Student Accounts
✓ Have a 2.5 institutional cumulative GPA or higher with a minimum of 11 earned credit hours at UCA

📅 April 1, 2025

✓ FAFSA submitted and sent to UCA (school code 001092)

📅 May 6, 2025

✓ Service hour requirements for the Spring 2025 semester completed
✓ Be in good standing with the UCA Office of Student Accounts
✓ Have a 2.5 institutional cumulative GPA or higher with a minimum of 27 earned credit hours at UCA

Renewal Requirements

This is an overview of the requirements. The full renewal requirements are available in the 2024-2025 UCA Commitment Policy

Ongoing

  • Maintain a minimum 2.5 institutional cumulative GPA by the end of each fall and spring term.
  • Stay in good standing with the UCA Office of Student Accounts.
  • Complete all required service hours for each semester by the deadline (refer to the Academic Calendar).

Annually

  • Submit a FAFSA by April 1.

Credit Hour Requirements

  • Year 1 and after (Fall to Spring): Earn at least 11 UCA credit hours.
  • Year 1 (Spring to Fall): Earn at least 27 UCA credit hours.
  • Year 2 and after (Spring to Fall): Earn at least 30 UCA credit hours.

Summer Term

  • If GPA or credit hour requirements are not met by the end of the spring term, students may enroll in UCA summer coursework; UCA summer term credit hours and GPA will be considered in the renewal process.
  • Students who do not meet renewal requirements at the end of the spring semester and have qualifying mitigating circumstances may submit an exception request if they have attempted hours in one of the following terms: May Intersession, 13-week Summer Session, 10-week Summer Session, 8-week Summer Session, Summer I, or Summer II.

Additional Notes

  • All remediation requirements must be completed before renewal to Year 2.
  • Any incomplete grades must be resolved according to the Incomplete Grade Policy.

Exceptions

  • Students not meeting renewal requirements may submit an exception request, if they have mitigating circumstances.
  • Refer to the Undergraduate Bulletin for more information on attempted hours.
