STEM Day at UCA

Each year, 4th to 6th graders from central Arkansas are invited to the University of Central Arkansas on the Wednesday after UCA graduation to engage in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) demonstrations, experiments, games and activities. It’s a daytime field trip your students will never forget!

Presented by UCA’s College of Natural Science and Mathematics, the annual STEM Day at UCA offers STEM educational opportunities, especially to under-resourced middle schools in and around Faulkner County. The day’s activities are facilitated by UCA faculty and student volunteers and funded by interdepartmental and external charitable organization grants and donations.

Dissections, animal demonstrations, planetarium shows, robotics, geography, chemistry, microbiology, math activities and more await students hungry for the experience but rarely have the opportunity or the equipment available in their own homes or classrooms to integrate these activities into their curriculum. This is a FREE science education outreach event for central Arkansas schools organized by teachers who love and support fellow teachers, scientists who want to inspire young aspiring scientists, and grateful college students who want to give something back to their community!

Each year’s STEM Day is advertised in the late Fall, while registration opens in February and closes in March. 2023 STEM Day is currently on hold, updates will be posted soon.
