Key Points:
- Top Hat Login procedure changes: Starting on 5/8/2024, you will use your UCA credentials to log into Top Hat instead of your current email/password combination
- No impact to your Top Hat account, courses, or user data: Your Top Hat courses, grades, attendance data, and materials will be unaffected by this change in login method.
- Enhanced security and streamlined access: With SSO, you will experience a more seamless login experience that is also more secure. SSO eliminates the need to remember and manage separate login credentials for Top Hat.
Merge your existing account:
As of 5/8/2024, if you have a Top Hat account, you will merge your existing account with your UCA account upon your next login. To start this process, logout and login at app.tophat.com.

Integrating Top Hat and Blackboard
UCA has installed a new integration between Top Hat and Blackboard, and it is ready for faculty to use. This integration includes features to enhance your integrated course experience, including:
- Deep Linking: Allows instructors to create links from your Blackboard course to specific content in your Top Hat course, so it is clear to students which work they are expected to do.
- Automatic Roster Sync: Makes student enrollment simple and regularly syncs your Top Hat roster in sync with your Blackboard roster.
- Automatic Grade Sync: Grades sync from Top Hat to Blackboard so every student knows where they stand. Deep linked assignments automatically sync to the Blackboard gradebook shortly after they are made available to students in Top Hat.
