The Purple Rage Basketball Band energizes UCA basketball fans with their musical performances. This ensemble performs at all home games for both men’s and women’s games, contributing significantly to the game day atmosphere. Purple Rage enhances the spirit and excitement at the Farris Center and performs at approximately 20 games per season. These performances provide the ensemble with exceptional opportunities to showcase their talents both locally and nationally.
Wind players who are members of an ensemble within the Band Department do not have to audition for the group.
For drum set and bass guitar positions, auditions are held both individually and during our group’s first meeting in October. During this rehearsal, all prospective drummers and bassists rotate through performances of various musical styles. By the end of the rehearsal, a determination is made regarding which drummers and bassists will be offered a spot in the ensemble.
An honorarium is awarded each semester for participation in the group in the form of an academic scholarship.
