RN to BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing)

The RN to BSN track is for Registered Nurses (RNs) who are graduates of accredited associate degree or hospital diploma programs and seek a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree. Qualified RNs receive 41 hours of BSN nursing credit based on their prior educational program. This program is 100% online and can be completed in as little as 12 months. Part-time schedules are available for those students who do not want to complete the degree in 12 months.

We are currently accepting RN to BSN applications for summer 2017.  Applications received after April 15, 2017 will be considered for fall 2017 admission.  Please direct any questions regarding this process to Ms. Rose Schlosser, M.Ed. at rschlosser@uca.edu.

Program requirements

  1. Minimum GPA of 2.75.
  2. Completion of specified required non-nursing courses with a GPA of 2.5 or above (53 hours) and completion of remaining general education courses (21 hours) with at least a “D”. Applicants lacking 1 or 2 pre-reqs may be considered for admission with approval.
  3. Complete Nursing Application for Admission.
  4. Current unencumbered Arkansas RN license.
  5. Graduate of an NLNAC accredited nursing program leading to RN licensure. Graduates of non-NLN accredited schools will be considered on an individual basis.
  6. Work experience as specified by the articulation standards, see below.
  7. Admission to UCA. The University application form is available on-line. Fill out the application or call 1-501-450-3128. Students are encouraged to be under the advisement of a UCA Nursing Advisor prior to that time.

Pre-requisite courses can be taken at UCA or transferred from another institution. Students are encouraged to review the Transfer Credit Guidelines information located on the Registrar’s website and the Arkansas Department of Higher Education’s Course Transfer System (ACTS) to check on what course credits will transfer.

UCA Admissions Requirement

  1. ApplyFill out the application.
  2. Additional Documents– In addition to your application we will need your official transcripts of all schools attended (colleges/universities) and a $25 application fee.

  1. Admission — Once we receive your admissions application and other college transcripts, an admission officer will review your application. You will be notified when you are admitted and mailed an admissions packet.
  2. myUCA — Once your application has been processed, you will receive a letter from us with your username and password. Your username and password will allow you to check your myUCA account for financial aid, scholarship, registration and important UCA information.
