The Center for Teaching Excellence awards two different grants from two different sources. The qualification requirements and application process are the same for both grants.
Faculty Development Grants – Funds are awarded from the Faculty Development Fund on a competitive basis by the Faculty Development Committee to faculty who submit written proposals for instructional or curricular development projects. Applications are reviewed 10-14 days after each deadline. Click on the link above for the full Guidelines.
Additional funding this year for faculty teaching online makes it possible to extend an additional application deadline for these specific FDG applications. This final call for online applications coincides with the typical summer grant deadline of April 14.
Upcoming Deadlines: September 30, November 30, January 31, March 15, April 14
Hunt – Farris Faculty Development Grant – In 2006, Former UCA President Jeff Farris and his wife Patsy established a $25,000 fund designated for faculty development. In the same year, Johnelle Hunt, widow of J.B. Hunt, established a similar fund of $75,000. Guidelines for these grants are the same as those for regular faculty development grants, except that funds can roll over into the next fiscal year and hence are appropriate for activities scheduled for the summer months.
Funds are limited; therefore, only faculty development activities that cross fiscal years are eligible for a Hunt-Farris grant (i.e., extends past July 1).
Deadline: April 14
