The Arkansas Council of Teachers of Mathematics (ACTM) is a professional association that supports and encourages good mathematics teaching. ACTM conducts annual regional and state mathematics contests that provide an opportunity for high school students to compete academically. Following the regional contest, teachers may access the regional tests and use them as teaching tools in the designated courses.
Contest information for 2017 will be announced when available.
The regional contest for 2016 is set for Saturday, March 5, 2016, and the state contest is Saturday, April 23, 2016. A complete list of regional sites and regional directors can be found with the link on the left of this page. Contest rules, tests from previous years, and a registration form are also found as links to this page. (Registration details for 2016 will be posted soon.)
Dr. Charles Watson, associate professor of mathematics at the University of Central Arkansas, is state contest director and can be contacted at firstname.lastname@example.org or 501-450-5681.
