The University of Central Arkansas Art Department is pleased to have photographer Thom Bennett as a visiting artist on Tuesday, Feb. 8.
Bennett will give a presentation on at 7 p.m. on Feb. 8 at McCastlain Hall Room 143. He also will give an informal talk at 8 a.m. and again at 10 a.m. on Feb. 9 in Baum Gallery. The presentations are free and open to the public.
Thom Bennett is an editorial and fine art photographer based in New Orleans. Originally from South Louisiana, Bennett received his bachelor of arts degree in photography & english from Louisiana Tech University and a master?s degree in history from Mississippi College. Since that time he has pursued photography as his lifework and art form. With his interest in history and the social sciences, Bennett specializes in photographing music and Southern culture; his curiosity about the people and how they live, work, and play is a continuing fascination for him. He has exhibited in the New Orleans area for the last 10 years.
