Victor Green, a member of the UCA Foundation, has been appointed to the University of Central Arkansas Board of Trustees.
Gov. Mike Beebe appointed the Conway businessman and UCA alumnus on Wednesday to serve a seven-year term on the board. He replaces Patricia Bassett of Sherwood whose term expired.
“It is a great honor to be appointed by the Governor to such a prestigious position,” Green said. “I had no idea my name was mentioned. When I did get the call from the Governor’s Office, I felt it was a great call to service for the university.”
Green is an independent claims adjuster and manager for claims for Alabama-based Pilot Catastrophe Services. He has served on the UCA Foundation for the past three years. He will resign from his position on the foundation board.
Green’s primary goals are to be a good steward of public money and to work with UCA President Allen Meadors, he said.
“One of the goals I would like to have is to work with Dr. Meadors to accomplish the vision he has for the university,” Green said.
Green’s time on the foundation board helped him learn about university operations and funding, he said. He also learned about the strong support for the university.
“There are so many people who really, really support UCA and what UCA is trying to do in the community as well as the state,” Green said.
