The College of Liberal Arts at the University of Central Arkansas continues the “Exploring Our World” series with a free public lecture on gender stereotypes in religion and popular culture. The lecture, Ain’t I A Man: If I Act Like A Woman and Think Like A Man? will be held Tuesday, Sept. 18 from 6-8 p.m. at the Brewer-Hegeman Conference Center located on the UCA campus.
A panel of faculty members from the Department of Philosophy and Religion at UCA will address questions of how women and men define their roles in relationships. The panel includes Dr. Taine Duncan, an assistant professor who specialties include Feminist Philosophy, 20th century continental philosophy and the history of philosophy; I. Malik Saafir, an adjunct instructor and founder of the Rev. Dr. William H. Robinson School of Practical Theology; and Tanya Jeffcoat ,resident master of EDGE Residential College, who specializes in American philosophy, philosophy and culture and history of philosophy.
“Exploring Our World” is an ongoing series that examines different topics, primarily from the humanities perspective. The ideas and topics, led by UCA faculty, come from different disciplines and are brought to light and viewed from different angles in discussions among participants.
