CONWAY—The University of Central Arkansas Theatre will present “Tis Pity” by John Ford in late October and early November in the Bridges/Larson Theater in Snow Fine Arts Center.
Performances are 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 25-26 and Nov. 1-2, as well as a 2 p.m. matinee on Oct. 27.
Chris Fritzges, director of the play and an associate professor of Theatre, described “Tis Pity” as a “story of forbidden love between two young individuals who get caught up in plots of love and revenge that ultimately decide their fate.”
“‘Tis Pity’ was written in 1633 after Shakespeare’s death, and it really feels like an homage to the bard and his plays,” Fritzges said.
UCA theatre student Emily Cobb, who plays Annabella, said the play is “definitely a different experience” and she hopes to “give the audience a show that they can truly connect with and immerse themselves in, leaving the real world behind for a few hours.”
The production is recommended for mature audiences because of violence and romantic scenes.
