UCA Theatre will present ?Proof,? at 7:30 p.m., Feb. 16-19 on Centre Stage of the Snow Fine Arts Center.
Written by David Auburn, this 2001 Pulitzer Prize-winner for drama finds a young woman confronting her father’s legacy of genius and madness as she cares for him in his final years. After his death, the father’s protege finds a revolutionary mathematical proof among his papers. Did the father’s madness keep him from announcing his discovery or is the proof the work of his daughter?
?Proof? won the 2001 Tony for Best Play and featured Mary Louise Parker, who also won a Tony for Best Actress. The film version, featuring Gwyneth Paltrow and Anthony Hopkins, is scheduled for release later this year.
