University of Central Arkansas student groups will attend the Day at the Capitol event Monday, March 12 starting at 9:30 a.m. hosted by the Arkansas Association of Students.
Members of the UCA’s Student Government Association, President’s Leadership Fellows and IDEAL will attend the half-day event.
Student leaders from Arkansas two- and four-year institutions will tour the Arkansas Capitol building and meet with representatives and experience lobbying speaking on issues that affect students.
Students will also speak to lawmakers about the importance of increased funding for higher education, what efforts students would like to see and accomplishments of their individual institutions.
Student leaders from Arkansas universities will speak on the importance of higher education and scholarships. The student representatives will also visit with local senators and representatives before observing legislative sessions in the Capitol Gallery.
