More than 700 degrees were conferred during the winter commencement at the University of Central Arkansas on Dec. 12.
About 335 graduates walked across the stage to receive their degrees during commencement at the Farris Health and Physical Education Center that morning. A second commencement was held that afternoon, where an additional 397 degrees were conferred.
During his commencement speech, UCA President Allen Meadors encouraged graduates to design their destinies.
“Let nothing stop you from accomplishing all you desire for yourselves and your current and future families,” he said. “Remember the success you have earned today – harness it and hold it close to you as you endure the obstacles that occur in all our lives. Let your experiences and education at UCA strengthen you to meet future challenges.”UCA faculty prepares students to be citizens of the world and to be open to the perspectives of other people and cultures, Meadors told the graduates. Also, the faculty encourages students to always seek personal and professional growth and knowledge.
