The University of Central Arkansas Foundation hosted its annual Scholarship Reception Thursday, Oct. 12 at the McCastlain Ballroom on the campus.
The annual event allows scholarship recipients the opportunity to thank donors and share stories of how their generosity has affected their lives.
“Our Scholarship Reception is a unique event that allows donors to be reminded of the continuous impact that is made by their generosity and to see the lives that they have touched. Likewise, it gives students the opportunity to express their gratitude to someone that is now a major stakeholder in their success,” said UCA President Houston Davis.
Last year, the UCA Foundation awarded more than $995,000 in scholarships to 557 deserving students. Students who were awarded private scholarships from the UCA Foundation, Inc. for the 2017-18 academic year are provided this unique opportunity to meet their scholarship donors and share with them how their generosity has changed their lives.
This year’s scholarship reception was also a celebration of the UCA Foundation surpassing the $10 million threshold in total scholarship dollars awarded.
