The University of Central Arkansas raised $41,504.80 from 1,154 donors during its third annual UCA Day of Giving campaign on Thursday, March 16 marking a third consecutive year increase in money raised.
“We are moved by the generosity of our faculty, staff, students and alumni during our Day of Giving,” said UCA President Houston Davis. “All the way to the final hour, the level of participation and enthusiasm was remarkable.”
The impact made on Day of Giving stretches all across campus including financing student scholarships, program enhancements, faculty research grants and more.
“Throughout the day, we kept our alumni, friends and the UCA community updated through email, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter,” director of annual giving Haley Fowler said. “It is so exciting to see how alumni, faculty, staff, students and friends can all come together and make a huge impact in 24 hours.”
“When everyone comes together, those gifts add up to make a big impact,” she said. “There has never been more pressure on universities to increase private funding as state funding remains flat. Whatever the greatest need is at that time, the only way to make up the difference is through private support.”
Executive director of development Joycelin Randle said, “It was wonderful to see how UCA faculty and staff supported Day of Giving. It shows just how deeply they care about our students and university.”
Although Day of Giving is over, contributions can still be made online at uca.edu/give or by calling 401-450-5859.
