The University of Central Arkansas recently announced the classified and non-classified Employee of the Year for 2020-21.
This year’s classified Employee of the Year is Nancy Bond, administrative assistant in the Department of Physical Therapy.
The non-classified Employee of the Year is Billie Hill, director of finance in facilities and systems in the Division of Outreach and Community Engagement.
Employees of the Year are selected through the UCA Staff Senate. Two staff members are awarded each year. Nominees must have completed two years of continuous service by January 1 to be eligible for the awards. Any current staff, faculty, student or alumnus can nominate someone for Employee of the Year.
Bond has worked at UCA for 11 years. In the nomination packet, her nominators said, “Her interactions with staff, students, and faculty, both inside and outside the department, always include a helpful and positive attitude. Ms. Bond is the epitome of a team player and her contributions to the work of the department are indispensable. Quite simply, she is outstanding at her job.”
Hill has worked at UCA for 21 years. In the nomination packet, one of her nominators said, “Billie and her team support every single program, class, event or conference in Outreach. She is truly the unsung hero as none of the programs would be as effective or successful without proper accounting support. I have worked in Outreach with Billie for almost 17 years and I can personally attest to Billie’s leadership development and growth in her field. She is compassionate with her team and truly cares about the success of the division.”
The runner ups for the classified and non-classified Employee of the Year awards were Paula Myers, assistant for professional development in the Division of Outreach and Community Service, and Garth Clayborn, academic adviser, respectively.
