Travel author Rick Steves will be the guest speaker for the inaugural “Bravo!” event on Friday, March 16 at Reynolds Performance Hall.
“Bravo!” is a partnership between community volunteers and the College of Fine Arts and Communication to raise funds for the college. Each year, the event will focus on a different department within the college. This year, “Bravo!” will benefit students in the Department of Writing.
Steves is the host of Rick Steves’ Europe, Travel with Rick Steves, and has authored various travel guides.
Steves will share dinner and a conversation with donors on the stage of Reynolds Performance Hall. Tickets are $75 a person, and $100 for a VIP ticket, which includes an invitation to a pre-dinner cocktail party at the home of Madelyn and Jerry Adams.
All donations will help pay for conferences for students. Attendance at a professional conference will expose the students to professional writers who can influence future career decisions.
“UCA and the College of Fine Arts and Communication have an extraordinary opportunity through the generosity of Rick Steves and several donors, who are making ‘Bravo!’ possible,” said Dr. Rollin Potter, dean of the College of Fine Arts and Communication.
There are about 90 seats remaining. To make reservations, visit uca.edu/bravo or call Lesley Allen at (501) 450-3293. Paper tickets will not be printed for the event, but registration confirmation will be received in the mail.
