Sunaura Trio, the resident faculty woodwind trio at UCA, will present a concert at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 1, in the Snow Fine Arts Recital Hall at UCA. There concert is free and open to the public.
Sunaura Trio will perform ?Spring? by Blackford, ?Suite for Woodwind Trio? by Civil, they will be joined by Jackie Lamar for ?Trois Pieces? by Bozza, and ?Adagio and Allegro? by Mozart, and joined by Carl Anthony for ?Suite ? by Amberg.The Sunaura Trio is comprised of Carolyn Brown, flute; Lorraine Duso, oboe; and Min Ho Yeh, clarinet.
In existence for only six years, the trio has established and maintained an active performing schedule performing woodwind chamber music from early masters such as Mozart and Haydn to 20th century compositions.
The group is proud to have had several works written especially for them, particularly ?Nine Pieces for Woodwind Trio? by UCA theory and composition teacher, Paul Dickinson. The trio has already performed this challenging work at a number of composition conferences throughout the region and recently has been invited to perform it at the International Double Reed Society Conference in Austin, Texas, in June.
The Sunaura Trio regularly performs in schools throughout the state, presenting concerts and clinics for hundreds of students each year.
