Student Vaccination Eligibility

Update regarding COVID-19 vaccinations from President Houston Davis to students, faculty, and staff

Gov. Asa Hutchinson has opened up vaccination eligibility to Phase 1-C, which allows many of our students to now be eligible for a vaccine. Included in these categories of eligibility are our students that have risk factors related to COVID-19, those that work in food service, and students that live in congregate settings, crowded housing, or student housing such as dorms and Greek housing.

The following categories of individuals are now eligible under 1-C:

  • Arkansans aged 16 to 64 with health conditions that increase their risk for severe COVID-19.
  • Essential workers in:
    • Energy
    • Finance
    • Food service
    • Information technology and communications
    • Legal
    • Media
    • Public health/human services
    • Public safety
    • Shelter and housing
    • Transportation and logistics
  • People residing in high-risk settings
    • Includes those who live in congregate settings, crowded housing, or student housing such as dorms and Greek housing.

Additionally, individuals in Phase 1-A and 1-B remain eligible for vaccinations. More information on those phases is available here.

If you or someone you know is eligible for the vaccine under Phase 1-C, Conway Regional Medical Center is maintaining appointment opportunities for all eligible categories. Visit conwayregional.org/covid19vaccine to learn more about appointments and registration. If you have questions or need assistance, you can also call their Patient Navigation Center between 9 am and 5 pm at 501-506-2747. You may also seek a vaccination appointment with other pharmacies and providers if you are eligible under 1-C.

I encourage all individuals that are eligible for the vaccine to take advantage of your earliest appointment opportunity. I remain incredibly excited and optimistic about a fall semester where we can return to normal operations.
