Several counties have been placed on a flash flood watch through late Friday night.

UCA Police Chief Larry James has placed his department on stand-by. All shifts, beginning this evening, will be staffed with additional personnel.
The university’s Physical Plant staff has been busy cleaning drains and removing debris across campus, said Larry Lawrence, director of Physical Plant. Sand bags have been placed at Bernard and Hughes halls and at Lewis Science Center. Additional personnel staff will monitor areas that typically flood throughout the evening.
Students are encouraged to stay alert to severe weather conditions by monitoring local news outlets and be prepared to take severe weather precautions. More information about the storm and campus preparations will be posted as it becomes available on the UCA website, facebook page, and the UCA Police Department website.
Individuals can review emergency procedures at the UCA Police Department’s website.
Due to the forecast of heavy rain Thursday through Friday night, parking spaces south of Stadium Park and north of Hughes Hall have been blocked off. The southwest corner of the Farris Center parking lot is also blocked off due to the risk of flooding. Individuals who use these parking lots are advised to park in the round-a-bout parking lot at Farris Road and Bruce Street until mid-day Saturday.
