CONWAY — Actor and comedian Sinbad, famous for his work in films and TV shows such as “The Sinbad Show” and “Jingle All The Way,” will be at the University of Central Arkansas’ Reynolds Performance Hall on Feb. 12 starting at 7:30 p.m.

“An Evening with Sinbad,” as his show later this month is called, will showcase the entertainer’s stand-up comedy despite Sinbad’s famously claiming he doesn’t know any jokes. That being said, Comedy Central ranks Sinbad as one of the top 100 stand-up comedians of all time.

With comedy focused on his audiences’ day-to-day life and the embarrassing trials that come with it, Sinbad has garnered a loyal following dedicated to his clean yet pointed approach to making people laugh. As the son of a preacher, Sinbad believes that “funny is funny” and would argue that the masters of dirty comedy such as Lenny Bruce, Richard Pryor and others could all clean up their act and not miss a beat.

“Sinbad has staying power,” said Julia Dossett Morgan, UCA Public Appearances’ director of marketing and finance. “He’s been a comedic force in entertainment for years, and every TV show, movie or comedy special he’s appeared in has been a success.”

Tickets are $30-40 for the general public and $10 for students. For tickets, call UCA Ticket Central Box Office at 501-450-3265 between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., Monday through Friday or toll free from anywhere in Arkansas at 1-866-810-0012 or visit www.uca.edu/reynolds.
