Interim Provost Steve Runge has announced two new appointments to the Office of the Provost.
Dr. Kurt Boniecki has been appointed as the associate provost for instructional support. Dr. Wendy Castro has been named the director of assessment. They will begin their new positions on July 1.
Boniecki received his master’s and doctorate degrees in social psychology at the University of Florida in Gainesville. He has taught at UCA since the fall of 2000. Boniecki, an associate professor in the Department of Psychology and Counseling, brings significant experience in statistical design.
Castro received a Ph.D. from the University of California at Riverside. She has been at UCA since the fall of 2004 and has been a graduate advisor since the fall of 2005. She was tenured and promoted to associate professor in May 2010. She is currently an associate professor and the director of Graduate Studies in the department of history. She has played an instrumental role in building that graduate program. She is a lead developer for the UCA Academic Integrity policy.
Runge said that he believes the faculty he has brought in will do a phenomenal job.
“I feel very strongly that we now have in place a truly outstanding leadership team in Academic Affairs,” he said. “The future is bright and we are going to do our best to ensure that it stays that way.”
