The University of Central Arkansas Reynolds Performance Hall welcomes the brand new production of the smash-hit musical “On Your Feet! The Story of Emilio and Gloria Estefan” on Sunday, Feb. 5, at 7:30 p.m.
This inspiring true story of the queen of Latin pop, Gloria Estefan and her husband, Emilio, is about heart, heritage and two people who believed in their talent and each other.
This new production is directed and choreographed by Luis Salgado, who performed in the original Broadway production of “On Your Feet!” and was the Assistant Latin Choreographer of “In the Heights” on Broadway, which won four Tony Awards®. In May 2022, Salgado directed and choreographed the world premiere of “On Your Feet!” in Spanish at the GALA Hispanic Theatre in Washington D.C.
Gloria Estefan has sold over 100 million records and sold-out stadiums around the world, and together with her husband, Emilio, has won 26 Grammy Awards®. This production will feature some of the most iconic songs of the past quarter-century, including “Rhythm is Gonna Get You,” “Conga,” “Get On Your Feet,” “Don’t Want to Lose You Now,” “1-2-3,” and more.
Executive Director of Public Appearances Amanda Horton said, “This musical brings to life the story of Gloria and Emilio Estefan and the impact that they had on the music industry in the 1980s and 90s when they introduced a new groove to the pop world. Expect to hear all of their big hits while also learning about their amazing career.”
