The University of Central Arkansas? annual OcTUBAfest Guest Artist Residency will feature the unique talents of Enrique ?Hank? Feldman, tuba, Dan ?Sly? Slipetsky, tuba and piano, and Marie Sierra, piano, during a 7:30 p.m. recital on Wednesday, Oct. 19, in the recital hall of Snow Fine Arts Center. The recital will feature Feldman and Sierra in a program of exciting works from the tuba solo repertoire, and will conclude with a selection of jazz works featuring Feldman and Slipetsky.
This year?s event will be of particular interest to the entire UCA community and specifically for those in the field of education. In addition to the public recital, Feldman will present several clinics on artistic and holistic life learning techniques.
Feldman is president of the Fostering Arts-Mind Education (FAME) Foundation, which exists to expand the success of children, their families and teachers through the integration of artistic and holistic life learning techniques, and to broaden their imagination in the classroom and at home. As president of the Foundation, Feldman continues to craft educational models that are sustainable for both the classroom and the home learning environment.

For education and early childhood education majors, Feldman will present a clinic on integrating life learning techniques within any curriculum in order to expand teachers? repertoire and enhance effectiveness of curriculum and teachers.
The clinic will also address improvement of academic achievement in a measurable manner in the areas of early literacy, early math, social and emotional development and nature and science, creating life-long learners with children and teachers in the classroom and with parents and children in the home. The program also crafts and delivers scientific educational models that are sustainable and replicable in a rural and inner-city setting.
