The University of Central Arkansas welcomes Jesse Thill as the new director of Alumni Services. His start date is Feb. 9.
“We look forward to Jesse leading our alumni efforts. He has an impressive background and knows the state very well. More importantly, his knowledge and vision of engaging and energizing the UCA alumni base will certainly make a difference as we move forward,” said UCA President Tom Courtway.
Thill comes to UCA from the University of Florida Alumni Association where he has served as associate director of Membership and Philanthropy since 2013. Prior to the University of Florida, he worked at the University of Arkansas, Brown University, and the UALR William H. Bowen School of Law.
Shelley Mehl, vice president for Institutional Advancement stated, “The search committee was very impressed by Jesse’s experience and talent. He will build on UCA’s traditions and successfully expand our alumni programming and support.”
Thill was raised in Fayetteville, Ark. After high school, he attended Coffeyville Community College in Coffeyville, Kan., on a track and cross-country scholarship. He went on to attend the University of Arkansas at Little Rock where he completed his undergraduate degree in history and his graduate degree in learning systems technology. Thill and his wife, Elizabeth, have two sons, Chance and Cooper.
When asked his thoughts about the position, Thill replied, “I am very excited about the opportunity to lead the University of Central Arkansas’ Office of Alumni Services. I believe that now, more than ever, a strong alumni association is key to the mission of the university. Together, we will continue to build an alumni association that fosters the connection between graduates, former students, friends, and the university. Elizabeth and I are delighted to return home to central Arkansas. I would like to thank President Tom Courtway, Vice President Shelley Mehl, Dr. Brad Teague, and the entire search committee for this incredible opportunity. We look forward to becoming part of the UCA family. Go Bears!”
