The University of Central Arkansas Department of Music will present ?Baby Bruckner,? ? its annual performance of a major symphonic work presented in a chamber format ? at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 29 in Snow Fine Arts Recital Hall. The performance is free and open to the public. This year?s performance is an arrangement of Bruckner?s beloved Eighth Symphony in a reduction by Dr. Norman Boehm of the Hendrix Music Department. Boehm also will conduct the group.
The series is the brainchild of Boehm and Dr. Carl Anthony of the UCA Music Department.
Joining Boehm will be UCA faculty members Carolyn Brown, flute; Lorraine Duso, oboe; Min Ho Yeh, clarinet; Larry Jones, trumpet; Brent Shires, french horn; Linda Hsu, violin; Stephen Feldman, cello; Jim Hatch, bass; Carl Anthony, piano; Paul Dickinson, harmonium; and Blake Tyson and Stephanie Dickinson, percussion. Completing the ensemble will be Arkansas Symphony Orchestra colleagues Elizabeth Martinez, bassoon; Will Manley, violin; and Katherine Reynolds, viola.
