Katie Henry has been named interim general counsel for the University of Central Arkansas. Her new post was effective July 1. Her salary is $80,000. Henry’s duties will include preparing legal documents, reviewing university contracts and representing UCA in legal actions.
UCA President Tom Courtway said he is excited that Henry is taking this position and possesses the skills to excel in the job.
“I am pleased that Katie Henry has agreed to serve as interim general counsel. For the last four years she has served as associate general counsel. During this time she has worked on all facets of the University’s business, including contracts, university policies and procedures, real estate, litigation and international matters,” he said. “She is knowledgeable, experienced in university matters, and is a person who has worked very closely with many departments on our campus. She will be an asset to the senior management team as we move forward.”
Henry arrived at UCA in July 2008 from her job as an associate attorney with H. Keith Morrison, Attorney at Law. She earned a bachelor of science degree in public relations and a minor in political science from UCA in December 2002. She attended the University of Arkansas School of Law, where she received a juris doctor degree in 2006.
