The UCA Student Government Association has planned and is attending Day at the Capitol, which is an event that will bring college students from universities across the state to the State Capitol to voice their concerns about higher education funding and the Academic Challenge Scholarship.
The event begins at 9 a.m. Thursday, March 6. Students will meet in the Capitol Rotunda.
Student leaders from each university will speak on the importance of higher education and scholarships. Director of Higher Education Shane Broadway and potentially Governor Mike Beebe will address the students. The student representatives also will visit with their local senators and representatives from their respective districts before observing legislative sessions in the Capitol Gallery.
