Update regarding COVID-19 from President Houston Davis to students, faculty, and staff
We have just received notice that we have been awarded approximately $4.8 million in additional student emergency grant funding through the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act (CRRSAA) HEERF II allocation. Our plan is to distribute the funding among all eligible students to assist with educational costs and other financial challenges related to COVID-19. Each eligible UCA student should receive approximately $425.
In order to qualify, students must be U.S. citizens or noncitizens eligible to receive federal student aid enrolled in at least one credit hour for the spring 2021 semester no later than Monday, Jan. 25. At this time, we are still awaiting federal guidance regarding additional students who may be eligible, as well as finalizing our distribution schedule.
Students do not apply for this funding; those who are eligible will be notified by the Office of Student Accounts next week with additional details. Funding will be disbursed via direct deposit or a check.
As a reminder, last year UCA disbursed over $4.8 million in Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF) student emergency grants. A summary of how the university distributed that funding may be found here: https://uca.edu/coronavirus/distribution-cares-act-funding/.
