The UCA Concert Choir, under the direction of John Erwin, will present its fall concert at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 17 in Reynolds Performance Hall. The performance is free and open to the public.
The program will consist of a variety of choral selections ranging from “Hear my Prayer, O Lord” by Henry Purcell, and “Crucifixus” by Antonio Lotti, to “When David Heard” by contemporary composer Eric Whitacre.
The 64-voice choir has received both national and international acclaim throughout its 30-year history under Erwin’s direction. In 2004, the UCA Concert Choir received the 2nd prize in the prestigious Riva del Garda Choral Competition in Italy. In February the group performed for the National American Choral Director?s Association convention in Los Angeles.
The UCA Concert Choir has performed in many important venues in the United States, Canada, and Europe. The choir enjoys a reputation of performing important choral repertoire of all eras consistently at the highest level.
