The University of Central Arkansas Reynolds Performance Hall presents “Batman in Concert” with the Conway Symphony Orchestra on Saturday, Feb. 3, at 7:30 p.m.
“DC in Concert” is a new, groundbreaking film concert series that allows DC and music fans alike to experience amazing films in a whole new way on a larger-than-life screen with the music played live by an orchestra. Watch the full-length original 1989 motion picture starring Michael Keaton as the Dark Knight of Gotham City begins his war on crime with his first major enemy being Jack Napier, a criminal who becomes a clownishly homicidal villain known as The Joker. The musical score, composed by Danny Elfman, will be performed by the Conway Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Israel Getzov, in this unique memorable symphonic cinema event.
UCA Public Appearances Executive Director Amanda Horton said, “This film, featuring Michael Keaton as Batman, turns 35 years old this year, but the tale of Batman is timeless. The Conway Symphony Orchestra will be featured on stage performing the score as the movie plays. Bring all of your DC Comic fans to this performance and introduce them to the power of live symphonic music as they enjoy this classic movie.”
Warner Bros. Pictures’ iconic DC Superhero film “Batman” was released on June 23, 1989. The defender of law and order in Gotham City treads the shadow zone between right and wrong, fighting with only his skill in martial arts and his keenly honed mind to defend the innocent and to purge the memory of his parents’ brutal murder – always keeping his true identity as millionaire philanthropist Bruce Wayne a closely guarded secret.
This live-to-picture performance provides the perfect opportunity to revisit a classic fan-favorite film based on one of the world’s most popular DC comic characters. Tickets range from $30-$50 for adults and $10 for children/students. Tickets are on sale now and may be purchased at the Reynolds Box Office Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., online at uca.edu/reynolds or by calling UCA Ticket Central at (501) 450-3265 or toll-free at (866) 810-0012.
