The University of Central Arkansas Art Department will host internationally-known photographer O. Rufus Lovett as a visiting artist on Monday, Feb. 21.
Lovett will be giving a presentation at 7 p.m. on Monday in McClastalin Room 143. The presentation is free and open to the public.
O. Rufus Lovett is a nationally recognized photographer and educator. He has taught at Kilgore College for the past 26 years and worked as a fine art and editorial photographer. His work has been exhibited at the Amon Carter Museum in Fort Worth, Texas, The Birmingham Museum of Art in Birmingham, Alabama, and The Houston Center for Photography in Houston, Texas. These and other venues have acquisitioned his photographs for their permanent collection including Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, and The Harry Ranson Humanities Research Center in Austin, Texas, and the Wittliff Gallery of Southwestern and Mexican Photography in San Marcos, Texas. His current work of a community in East Texas called ?Weeping Mary? will be published in Fall 2005.
